Voices of the organs in a plain

The Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Croats, together with the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks organizes an organ music concert called “Voices of the Organs in a Plain” in Kovačica.

The concert consisted of selected compositions from the opus of Croatian composers from Vojvodina - Stanislav Prepreka, Alba Vidaković and Josip Andrić. Selection of the compositions was made by prof. Đuro Rajković, and prof. of organs Saša Grunčić, who was also be the performer of program.

This concert was held on Sunday, June 30th, in the Slovak Evangelical a.v. Church in Kovačica.

New organizational scheme of the festival in Pivnice

On Tuesday, June 11th 2013 in Bačka Palanka, the Contract about the Common Rights and Obligations of the Founders and Organizers of the Festival “Meeting in Pivnice’s field“ was signed.

Our oldest festival, which has preserved the authentic Slovak folk songs for almost fifty years, gained two cofounders by signing this contract – Nacional Council of Slovak National Minority and Slovak Cultural-Arts Association "Pivnice". In addition, the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks and the Municipality of Bačka Palanka are now added to the organization of the festival.

Second, expanded edition of Slovaks in Serbia in Terms of Culture has been published

Due to the huge interest of the readers, the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks published the second, expanded edition of the book Slovaks in Serbia in Terms of Culture.

Much has been said about this publication, the preparations and scientific-research work of the publishing team, as well as about the numerous promotions at home and abroad, and achieved sucesses.

 

The first book about Slovaks in Silbaš

On Sunday, June 9th 2013, in Cultural Center in Silbaš, the newest publication of the local Slovaks ' Silbaš – Cultural Traditions of Slovaks in Bačka' was presented.

For Slovaks from Silbaš, this day was long expected since nearly all of them had the opportunity, back in 2012, to meet and discuss with at least one of the researchers from the Faculty of Philosophy UKF from Nitra about the cultural traditions of local Slovaks in the past and today.

The 20th Festival of Children's Theatrical Work "3 x Đ", which involved 13 competitive plays, ended on Sunday in Stara Pazova.

 

Children from Čelarevo visited Novi Sad

On Wednesday, June 5th 2013, the students of Elementary School "Zdravko Čelar" from Čelarevo visited the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks.

A fieldtrip for this group of ten students who take classes in the Slovak language with elements of folk culture was organized and realized by their teacher, Marija Kukučka Supek. At the Institute they were seen by Katarina Mosnak and Nataša Simonović. They presented the activities of this institution as well as the projects concerning cultural development of children and youth.

Pivnice won

The winner of the 43rd folk music festival "Tancuj, tancuj..." is the folk music ensemble "U pivničkom polju" part of the Slovak Cultural Artistic Society "Pivnice".

We have had yet another successful festival "Tancuj, tancuj...,”the biggest folk music event of Vojvodina’s Slovaks, and also the biggest folk music festival of the expatriate Slovaks.  

Presentation of the book Slovaks in Serbia from the Cultural Aspect held in Šid

On Thursday, May 30th this year, at the theater hall of the Slovak Cultural Artistic Society "Jednota" in Šid, presentation of the book Slovaks in Serbia from the Cultural Aspect took place.

The Director of Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks, Milina Sklabinski, the creative designer of the book Đula Šanta and the photographer Mihal Madacki were at the presentation. Members of the "Sremski Front” elementary school’s Slovak reciting club, students of "Sava Šumanović" secondary school who attend classes of the Slovak language with elements of folk culture, as well as a group of female singers from the Slovak Cultural Artistic Society "Jednota", enriched this event with their performances.

On Friday, May 24th, at the Cultural Institute of Vojvodina’s Slovaks, a multimedia program dedicated to the Days of Slavic Culture was held.

The Slovak Evening, dedicated to the culture of Slavs who are currently living in the region of Vojvodina was held at the Institute. The evening was enriched by the presence of the Deputy Mayor of the City of Novi Sad. During his speech, he pointed out the importance of this event.
